Great Driffield Ladies believe they might have made a small piece of history in the East Riding County Women’s Football League.
Two of their new signings took to the pitch together, with Josie Green having just turned 16 and Wendy Gate at 63, creating a remarkable age gap of 47 years.
Wendy even took home the Player of the Match award for her performance in goal, during a 2-1 defeat at Holme Rovers.
Great Driffield had successfully kicked off their Division 2 campaign a week earlier, with Josie Green making her debut in a 2-1 victory over East Riding Rangers.
