Deborah Dilworth introduces Free Lionesses as a fans’ publication put together by fans, for fans, and notes that the FSA’s fans’ embassy service – two decades old in the men’s game – is in France for its first women’s tournament, following Phil Neville’s team and hoping to reach Lyon on 7 July. Neville himself thanks supporters for the time, effort and money they invest, and says England fans have already proved themselves the best in the world. She Kicks editor Jen O’Neill, attending her sixth Women’s World Cup and her fourth following England, writes that travelling to watch the side has always been a privilege and that the players’ MADBAPs – mums and dads, boyfriends and partners – are part of a growing family. Her advice: applaud every kick and #DARETOSHINE.
