United States Women’s National Team, Tokyo 2020 Send-Off Series (poster)

A full-page poster of the United States squad at their send-off game before Tokyo, lined up across the width of the page in front of a Send-Off Series banner and a scoreboard reading USA 4, with the world champions’ badge on every shirt. The caption says only that the World Cup winners want gold, and no player is named; the photograph is credited to Brad Smith for ISI Photos. It is the third poster in an issue the cover sells partly on posters, and it sits between the magazine’s own predictions panel and the London 2012 retrospective – the reigning champions on one side of the spread, the team that beat them to gold in 2012 remembered on the other.
