She Kicks A Beat: The Bronze Age – Official Soundtrack (Lucy Bronze)

The reigning Best FIFA Women’s Player talks about the one dressing-room job she could not handle. Alex Scott used her as co-DJ with England and, when Scott retired, Lucy Bronze found the pressure too much and let it go to Leah Williamson. At Liverpool it was different: DJ Khaled’s All I Do Is Win became the adopted anthem of the back-to-back title sides, a detail Becky Easton had already given the magazine an issue earlier. At North Carolina the changing room had disco lights and built-in speakers, and Jess McDonald ran dance-offs so intense she was dripping before the warm-up. At Lyon she translated Chris Brown lyrics for team-mates who were singing invented English words. Her own initiation, Ed Sheeran, terrified her.
