She Kicks, issue 64, December 2020 pp.34–35

The first instalment of a new Championship slot, an interview of two halves – five questions about the player, five about the dressing room. Ashleigh Plumptre is a lifelong Leicester supporter and a Centre of Excellence graduate who went to California on a scholarship, took a human biology degree and won an NCAA College Cup with the USC Trojans in 2016, before signing for her hometown club in December 2019. She made her debut in January, played until the FA Cup quarter-final postponed by the pandemic in March, and spent lockdown recovering from a foot injury. She wears 22, the number she was given in America. On her team-mates she nominates Esmee de Graaf as the dark horse, Paige Bailey-Gayle as the fastest and Sophie Howard as the mum of the group.
