A Champion’s Challenge (Scott Booth interview)

In 2015 Scott Booth watched Glasgow City’s first Champions League quarter-final from a BBC commentary box. About to start a sixth season as their head coach, having delivered five league titles and two Scottish Cups, he will watch the next one from the touchline. City earned it by beating Brondby on penalties in October, and Wolfsburg are next – a side that may field the captains of Denmark and Germany and the former captain of Switzerland in Pernille Harder, Alexandra Popp and Lara Dickenmann. Booth talks about retaining titles, about the state of the Scottish game and about keeping his eye on his players through television punditry. A stop-press panel, added as the issue went to press, announces that Hibernian’s Grant Scott is joining him as assistant.
