Changing The Game: Fantastic Female Footballers (Casey Stoney book)

A panel introducing Changing the Game: Fantastic Female Footballers, co-written by Casey Stoney and Emily Stead, which surveys the history of the women’s game through the individuals who overcame the odds to play it. Stoney explains that the idea came from having grown up feeling there was nobody in the women’s game to look up to, and from a continuing lack of visibility: she has two daughters and a son and wants them to see their role models on television and in books, and she wants to remember the players who brought the game to where it is. Her favourite part, she says without ego, is the pages covering her own journey – she had never stopped to look back – and the section on the next generation. She Kicks offered readers a copy in an accompanying competition.
