‘The Best’ Gallery: Best FIFA Football Awards 2019

A two-page paparazzi gallery from the Best FIFA Football Awards, held at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan on 23 September 2019. Megan Rapinoe took The Best FIFA Women’s Player and Jill Ellis The Best FIFA Women’s Coach, while Sari van Veenendaal collected the inaugural award for The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper. England were well represented in the placings: Lucy Bronze, Phil Neville and Hedvig Lindahl each finished third in their category, with Vivianne Miedema fifth and Ellen White tenth among the players, and Joe Montemurro and Paul Riley ninth and tenth among the coaches. The evening also saw FIFA and FIFPro unveil the first Women’s World11, the only team award voted for by elite footballers worldwide. Daniela Porcelli’s pictures catch the guests off duty rather than on the podium.
