Two pages saluting the supporters rather than the players – ‘the stars OFF the field’, as the introduction puts it – gathered from a month that ran from the end of the World Cup into the opening of the domestic season. The pictures were taken in Belgium and the Faroe Islands on England and Wales duty, at Easter Road for Scotland, at the Etihad for the Manchester derby and across the WSL. They show flags of half a dozen countries hung over barriers, children in replica shirts holding footballs outside grounds, families photographed in the stands and in pubs, and a group posed behind a Scotland saltire. Nobody is captioned; the magazine simply asks readers whether they can spot anyone they know, crediting the images to Catherine Etoe, Lynne Cameron, Sean Ryan and Martin Bennett for the FA, Penny Miles and PA Images.
