Rojas So Proud (Maria Jose Rojas interview)

Chile forward Maria Jose Rojas talks to She Kicks before her country’s first senior World Cup, with eleven goals in 42 caps for La Roja at the time of writing. The 31-year-old describes herself as adaptable, committed and direct, with the technique and experience to fit different systems. She picks out the goal that mattered most: with ten minutes left against Uruguay at the 2018 Copa America Femenina, with Chile held at 0-0 and the final group phase slipping away, she scored the winner. A 3-2 friendly win over Australia and the praise Chile drew in the Australian press for their style also stands out. On a season spent in Japan, Australia and the Czech Republic, she says each one made her a better player.
