A two-page photographic review closes the 2018-19 FA Women’s Super League season. The spread is built around trophy-day images – a title-winning squad celebrating in front of a CHAMPIONS backdrop with medals and the league trophy, a manager holding the award aloft, and the WSL’s redesigned winners’ ribbons photographed in close-up against the competition’s hexagonal logo. Around them sit a promotion-winning squad behind a WE’RE GOING UP banner, a farewell tribute banner raised by supporters, squad photographs from two further clubs, and family and fan pictures taken pitchside at the season’s closing fixtures. The spread carries no captions, the photographs left to tell the story on their own. The gallery serves as the visual full stop to the domestic campaign before the magazine turns to the World Cup in France.
