She Kicks Goal Getter: Nikki Berko Knows Where the Goal Is!

In nine seasons at Blackpool Wren Rovers Nikki Berko scored around 450 goals, including 91 in a treble-winning campaign, and even in the season the club went down she managed thirty – enough to take her division’s Golden Boot and the Players’ Player award at the FA’s September ceremony, the second of which she did not know about until the night. She is honest about the years before: at Everton, Blackburn and Manchester City as a youngster she was not as committed as she should have been, and things might have gone differently. Relegation on goal difference she has not got over. Now at Guiseley after long thought, working full-time as a PE teacher, her ambition is simply to stay fit and keep scoring.
