SWPL Round-Up: Title and Relegation Battles

Since the SWPL returned from its mid-season break, Glasgow City have taken a large step towards a historic tenth successive title by beating Hibernian four-nil to move five points clear. In the relegation fight, Stirling University were awarded a three-nil win over Celtic for fielding an ineligible player in June, and seven points from nine has lifted them to within three of fourth. Aberdeen’s three-nil win over Spartans puts them seven clear of Forfar Farmington. In SWPL 2, Glasgow Girls and Hearts have traded the lead, and in the Jeanfield Swifts match Donna Shaw and Rachel Wolecki became the first mother and daughter to play in the same Scottish league team.
