Coach Kicks: Keith Boanas

She Kicks, issue 36, July 2016 p.55

Keith Boanas, head coach of Estonia’s women’s national team and a UEFA Pro Licence holder, answers the Coach Kicks questionnaire. He names Bobby Robson, whom he met and followed as president of the Surrey Coaches Association, as the coach he admires most, and Japan’s Norio Sasaki in the women’s game. His reading is largely sports psychology – Dan Abrahams and Steve Peters – and he designs almost all his own sessions. The players who made the biggest impression on him are his wife Pauline Cope, who he says won games simply by being on the field and was ahead of her time, and Casey Stoney, his captain at Charlton, whom he expects to become a fine coach.
