Right On Crichton (Leanne Crichton interview)

Leanne Crichton describes the decision that took her from Glasgow City and a full-time job with Glasgow Life to a professional contract at Notts County: she asked for a one-year sabbatical, was refused, and left anyway, with a mortgage to pay and guaranteed Champions League football behind her. She calls it a no-brainer in hindsight. English football proved more physical than expected, though she argues Glasgow City would compete in the WSL and the gulf is smaller than assumed. She is frank about a rocky start to the season, including her own missed penalty against Arsenal, and about the resources gap, comparing Notts County’s approach to Leicester City’s in the men’s game. She is studying health and social care.
