Arsenal goalkeeper Sari van Veenendaal looks ahead to her first Wembley appearance, having twice been there as a spectator, including the previous year’s final a month after signing. Arsenal needed shoot-outs to win their first two ties, with van Veenendaal saving three penalties against Notts County on her birthday, before a seven-nil semi-final win over Sunderland. She refuses the hero label, insisting you win and lose as a team, and would not take a penalty herself. She rates the WSL highly, saying it is more competitive than the Dutch league, and lives near the training ground with Dominique Janssen, Danielle Van De Donk and Marta Corredera. She gave Jemma Rose a copy of Dutch for Dummies, to little effect.
