SK Hat-Trick Heroine: Clare Shine
She Kicks, issue 32, January 2016 p.66
Glasgow City’s Clare Shine, who scored a hat-trick in the Scottish Cup final win over rivals Hibernian as her club completed a domestic treble, describes a season of seventeen goals and two hat-tricks. Born in Cork and a Republic of Ireland international who came through Douglas Hall, Cork City Women and Raheny United, she sets no targets before games or seasons and simply tries to perform as well as she can. Her most important goal was against Spain in the European Under-19 finals, won 1-0. A striker or attacking midfielder at heart, strongest on her right foot, she prefers scoring from inside the box because it is always dangerous for the opposition. Roy Keane is her idol for fearing no one and being a Cork man.
