The Big Kick Off: Sue Smith

Doncaster Rovers Belles midfielder Sue Smith reports a pre-season of hard work under a new manager and coach, with a new style of play and plenty of useful friendlies, singling out a boot camp as good fun and the creation of a very good team spirit as her favourite part. Her personal aim is simply to play as well as she possibly can and help lead the side to be as successful as they can be. The single improvement she would make is the chance to train full time, since fitting work around training means very early starts and very late finishes, though she insists it is all worth it. David Beckham is her celebrity fan of choice, she nominates firefighter team-mate Nicola Hobbs as a good slave, and her party trick is wiggling her ears.
