Rambo: The Return (Emily Ramsey)

An interview with Everton and England goalkeeping prospect Emily Ramsey, nicknamed ‘Rambo’ since her Under-16 days, as she returns to the matchday squad following an ankle injury. The 23-year-old discusses committing her long-term future to Everton last summer after a loan from Manchester United, the mutual trust built with fellow goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan under head coach Brian Sørensen, and welcoming young signing Libby Hart into the goalkeeping group. She reflects on her development through England’s youth ranks, an early scare when she missed a call from Sarina Wiegman while on holiday in Ibiza, learning from senior keepers Siobhan Chamberlain and Mary Earps, and her ambitions to establish herself as a WSL number one and push for full England recognition.
