Two Wales supporters give their side of qualification. Karen Jones MBE, a former goalkeeper, was one of the trio, with Michele Adams MBE and Professor Laura McAllister CBE, who in the early 1990s won official FAW recognition for a Cymru team that had existed since 1973. She is also club secretary and a founding member of Gwalia United, formerly Cardiff City Ladies, marking its 50th anniversary as the club that produced Jess Fishlock and Sophie Ingle. Watching the Dublin decider at home, she found the last ten minutes excruciating and admits to shedding a tear. Penny Miles, co-founder of Wal Goch y Menywod, describes pre-match meet-ups growing from twenty people to hundreds and an away section of 300-400, recalls being Wales’ lone fan in the stands in Belarus in 2019, and sets out her Swiss plans.
