Interview
Kerr of the Gers
She Kicks, issue 71, February 2022 pp.42–45
Catherine Etoe interviews the Rangers midfielder, back from a three-month lay-off after a teammate stood on her toe and tore her plantar, and who marked her return before the winter break with two goals against Spartans. Kerr describes appreciating football more for having lost it, praises Rangers’ medical staff, and explains leaving a Glasgow City side that won everything for full-time training and the resilience of learning to lose. She recalls Ian Dibdin pushing her towards Scott Booth over a meeting at a Frankie & Benny’s in Falkirk, working as a barista at Oriam while studying at Napier, and panicking at a missed call from Shelley Kerr. She talks candidly about anxiety and confidence, and laughs about being messaged good luck for Chelsea’s next game by people confusing her with the other Sam Kerr.
