The Menu: Amy Muir
She Kicks, issue 60, May 2020 pp.63–65
An instalment of The Menu from the SK Locker Room takeover with Hibernian defender Amy Muir, who had captained Scotland’s Under-19s at the previous summer’s UEFA Women’s Championship to rave reviews. The feature is split around the Car Quiz with Motherwell’s Katie Rice, resuming two pages later. Muir names Marmite as the food she cannot stand, recalling a single bite at a Scotland camp, and explains that she varies her diet to avoid tiring of the same pasta and chicken. Burger and chips is her treat meal; before a two o’clock kick-off she has poached eggs, toast and cereal, then pasta, tomato and chicken two and a half hours out. Half-time refuelling is jelly sweets and recovery a milkshake and cereal bar. Her signature dish is fajitas or a pasta bake, and her birthday cake a Victoria sponge.
