She Kicks, issue 60, May 2020 pp.6–7

Wilf Frith’s two-page tribute to the 2019-20 seasons voided from Tier 3 down, acknowledging clubs whose campaigns were expunged without promotion or relegation. Sunderland led the FAWNL Northern Premier by 11 points and faced a League Cup final against Stoke City; Crawley Wasps led the Southern Premier by nine from Watford, and Wasps captain Naomi Cole tweeted that it would be a memory of what they could do at that level rather than a matter of record. Wolves led Division 1 Midlands by nine points, manager Dan McNamara heartbroken and devastated; Barnsley director Natalie Jackson, Peterborough’s Kathryn Lusk and QPR’s Steve Quashie all voiced frustration. Goalscoring feats are logged, including AFC Leicester’s 160 goals in 15 Leicestershire League games with Ella Needham scoring 33, Runcorn Linnets’ 72 in nine and Tamworth’s 116. Bristol Rovers’ Jamie-Leigh Worlock reflected on an unbeaten record, while Walton Casuals, Summertown Stars and Bridport had already been confirmed champions.
