Amy Turner interview: Amy Aiming Finally For Cup Success (Continental Cup preview)

Claire Forrester talks to Notts County defender Amy Turner ahead of the FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup Final against Arsenal at Rotherham United, as County look to make amends for August’s Women’s FA Cup Final defeat. Turner counts a season of two finals as a positive despite finishing lower in the league than intended, noting she started most games and played 90 minutes, a target she set herself given the club’s summer signings. She recalls the coach leaving Wembley as bitterly disappointing but says the occasion itself only sank in weeks later, describing walking out to what seemed like the whole of Nottingham and being congratulated by people in the street. With the final close to her native Sheffield she expects a strong family turnout, joking about a Turner stand and a grandmother who might boo her by mistake.
