Murray’s Matters

She Kicks, issue 50, November 2018 pp.34–35

Joelle Murray’s column charts her comeback after nearly five months out, her first fifteen minutes coming on a historic evening at Forfar’s Station Park in the first SWPL game shown live on BBC Alba. She describes her stomach flipping when head coach Grant told her to get ready in a game balanced at 0-0, and Abi Harrison scoring just before she came on. Her first full ninety followed against Stirling, her first since the 2017 Scottish Cup final. Murray reports joining Shelley Kerr and other internationals on a rotating BBC Sportscene panel, and working with the Under-17 squad alongside Pauline MacDonald and Chris Smith. She scored the decisive goal as Hibernian beat Glasgow City in the Scottish Cup semi-final, then lost the league to the same opponents before a Scotland call-up for the USA match lifted her again.
