She Kicks Back: Indi Cowie (freestyler, Celtic/Scotland)
She Kicks, issue SK22, July 2014 p.51
The She Kicks Back questionnaire meets Indi Cowie, the FIFA Street world freestyle champion and Guinness World Record holder for the most heel taps in a minute with 102. Born in Boca Raton, Florida to Scottish parents, she has played for Celtic and Scotland Under-17s and is now a studio art major and assistant coach at the University of North Carolina. Cowie names her greatest achievement as a toss-up between Lionel Messi personally selecting her as EA Games Street versus Street world freestyle champion and appearing in a UEFA Champions League commercial for Sony PlayStation. She trains between one and three hours a day, rates the palle around the world as the hardest trick she has mastered, and draws inspiration from skateboard, longboard and surfing videos as well as freestyle.
