She Coaches: Sarah Lawler (Yeovil Town Ladies manager)

A She Coaches profile of Sarah Lawler, the 32-year-old manager of Yeovil Town Ladies, who has gone from club captain to player-manager, joint manager and now sole manager while climbing the coaching ladder from FA Community Coach to County Development Officer and Elite Performance Camp coach, and who this month begins work as FA Regional Elite Women’s Development coach for the South West. Lawler says a bad injury during her B Licence forced her to think about life after playing and to choose coaching, and that becoming an Elite Performance Camp coach made her realise it could be a career. Her new role will support the talent pathway for girls aged 7 to 17 and the coaches working with them. She was the only woman on her A Licence course but says she was used to that from school.
