Player Interview: Remi Allen — Spot On Remi
She Kicks, issue SK16, September 2013 pp.20–21
Catherine Etoe meets the Lincoln midfielder voted player of the year by supporters and team-mates alike, who has just scored in the penalty shoot-out against Liverpool that set up a Continental Cup final against Arsenal on 4 October. Remi Allen, 22 and an England under-23 regular, describes her role as the anchor and the insurance policy, doing the dirty bits others dislike, and reveals she began with England as an attacking number ten. She welcomes Rick Passmoor, knowing him from Leeds, while praising former manager Glenn Harris. She says the players know little yet of Lincoln’s move to Nottingham. Karen Bardsley in goal made her fancy the shoot-out. She names Jade Moore the league’s toughest tackler, Carla Cantrell the team DJ, and explains her nickname Rhino.
