FA Women’s Cup Final: Meet the Vixens (Bristol Academy)
She Kicks, issue SK14, June 2013 pp.28–29
The companion piece to the Arsenal profiles, in which Bristol Academy’s match promotion and events manager Lowri Williams presses the club’s Spanish House for team secrets. The Vixens reached the final by beating Lincoln Ladies 2-0 at Ashton Gate, seeking to overturn a 2011 final defeat by the same opponents. Siobhan Chamberlain is cast as forever on Twitter, captain Corinne Yorston as living in the gym, Jemma Rose as an off-season strongwoman and Grace McCatty as impossibly busy. Angharad James is the wannabe WAG, Lucy Staniforth the puppy of the house and Anne-Marie Heatherson its mother, organising Del Rio, Natalia and Staniforth. Nikki Watts, Ellie Curson, Alex Windell, Georgia Evans, Ellie Leek, Lauren Haynes, Rachel Highnett and Rhian Cleverly follow, with a bath prank on Mark Sampson and Dan Tanhai.
