Cover — Lloyd Strikes Gold Again / FAWSL No1s / Olympic Gallery

The cover of issue ten, dated September/October 2012, carries a Gavin Ellis photograph of Team GB players celebrating Steph Houghton’s goal against New Zealand in the match that opened the London 2012 tournament in Cardiff. The cover lines lead on ‘Lloyd Strikes Gold Again’, trailing an interview with the United States midfielder Carli Lloyd, who scored twice in the Olympic final, and on an eight-page Olympic gallery of action and reaction beginning on page eighteen. The magazine’s FA Women’s Premier League goalkeepers of the year are also billed, alongside interviews with Scotland striker Lisa Evans, Wales defender Sophie Ingle, Lincoln’s Megan Harris and referee Jane Simms. It is the first issue after the Games, and its editorial turns to the question of legacy.
