Managing Change — Tracey Kevins (Barnet LFC)
She Kicks, issue 3, October 2010 p.16
The second half of the Managing Change double interview, with Barnet manager Tracey Kevins, another FA Manager of the Year whose club missed out on the Super League. Kevins says motivating players was never a problem: the one player approached by another club chose to stay because she felt Barnet were moving in the right direction. The club’s bid was not dismissed out of hand, the feedback from the Super League authorities was very good, and membership remains the long-term aim. Finances are unaffected, with the men’s club still providing support such as the first-team coach and an overnight stay for the away game at Blackburn. She sees benefits in Super League players training with Barnet, notes her forwards must be more clinical in the National Division, and relishes the FA Cup now that Champions League places go to the finalists, after beating Nottingham Forest and running Everton close.
