England Women Under-20s beat Portugal 2-0 in their final preparation camp ahead of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
Young Lionesses goalkeeper Kaiya Jota parried away a close-range effort after hosts Portugal had been denied by the post in the opening minutes.
Rachel Maltby set up Chloe Hylton, but her long-range strike was well saved, while no one could quite get a finishing touch on Ava Baker’s cross.
Lucy Nowell made a fantastic block minutes before Vera Jones was brought down in the box and Baker put away the resulting spot kick.
Princess Ademiluyi twice went close, and Vivienne Lia saw her effort blocked on the line.
In added time, substitute keeper Eve Annets pulled off a stunning save from a free kick, after which Ademiluyi set Layla Drury away to fire home and seal the win.
