Ballymena United Women made it through the Irish FA Women’s Challenge Cup 1st Round along with Bangor, Craigavon City, and Maiden City.

Ballyclare Comrades 2-3 (AET) Ballymena United Women
Limavady United 0-9 Maiden City
Omagh Town 1-12 Craigavon City
Strabane Athletic 2-3 Bangor
Mid Ulster v Wellington Rec (Friday 19 June)

Lauren Hill’s long-range strike for Ballymena was cancelled out by a Molly Weir penalty, with Hill also converting from the spot. However, Tazmin Watson leveled late on for Ballyclare before Orla Lemon grabbed the winner in the 100th minute.

Bangor also secured a 3-2 away win but in normal time at Strabane Athletic, who had taken the lead through Bronagh McKinley. Olivia Marshall and an own goal from Stacey Johnston turned the tide in the Seasiders’ favour, and although Shantell Temple hit back from 25 yards out, Marshall’s second goal in the 78th minute proved decisive.

Maiden City netted nine times at lower-division Limavady United, helped by a four-goal haul from Toni McCool.

Craigavon City stormed to a 12-1 victory at Omagh Town despite being pegged back to 1-1, with Sophie Graham and Kayla Campbell starring with four goals each.

Second Round Draw:

Cliftonville v Lisburn Rangers
Craigavon City v Ballymena United
Derry City v Bangor
Glentoran Women v Comber Rec
Linfield v Mid Ulster or Wellington Rec
Lisburn Ladies v Maiden City
Sion Swifts v Larne

Ties to be played on Friday 17 July.
