
Regional Leagues Round-Up: Leeds Modernians pulled off a North East double, Royal Wootton Bassett Town were promoted to the South West Premier as champions.
EAST MIDLANDS – Stags Lift League Cup
League Cup – Mansfield Town edged past Loughborough Foxes Vixens 1-0, with Millie Mellors scoring a first-half goal for Andi Bell’s side.
League Plate – SJR Worksop secured a 2-0 victory over Gainsborough Trinity, with goals from Chelsea Bailey and Laura Ferguson.
LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Hammersmith closing in on double
Premier – Fixtures were completed as runners-up Saltdean United won 2-1 at mid-table Dorking Wanderers.
1 North – Camden Town held leaders Bromley to a goalless draw, and Hammersmith set themselves up to take the title with a 2-1 victory over AFC Greenwich Borough, as they now just need to win their final match.
League Trophy Final – Hammersmith face Eastbourne Borough at Dorking Wanderers FC, kick-off 2.30pm on Sunday 24 May.
NORTH EAST – Leeds Modernians do the double in a day
Premier – Ponteland United came out on top 7-4 in a goalfest at Brunsmeer Athletic, aided by a hat-trick from Rhian Roe, with the sides finishing fifth and eighth respectively.
1 North – Fourth-placed Gateshead Rutherford won 4-1 at Park View on Tuesday, aided by a 15-minute brace from Chloe Hewson, in the final fixture that saw the hosts end in eighth spot.
1 South – Handsworth recorded a 5-1 result over Lower Hopton but agonisingly missed out on the title by a margin of just two in goal difference to Leeds Modernians.
League Cup Final – Leeds Modernians lifted the trophy after scoring a goal in either half against South Shields at Norton Sports Complex.
SOUTHERN – Winchester finished a close second
Premier – Winchester City Flyers ended up a point short of champions Wycombe Wanderers with a 3-0 victory at Fleet Town. Southampton Women moved up from fifth to third with a 3-1 win at Sholing, while Oxford City took the points 2-1 over AFC Portchester, who host Woodley on Sunday 24 May.
1 North – Farnborough beat Tilehurst Panthers 5-3 to finish their fixtures currently level on points with Abingdon United Development and Larkspur Rovers, who both still have games to play. Kidlington play Tilehurst on Sunday 24 May.
1 South – Champions Farnham Town extended their lead to eight points with a high-scoring 7-3 success at Bursledon.
Shield Services Group SOUTH WEST – Wootton Bassett Champions
1 North – Bitton were 4-0 victors at AFC Brislington on Thursday, while Stockwood Wanderers had six different scorers in a 6-1 result at Downend Flyers. Royal Wootton Bassett Town clinched the title as Chantelle Scott scored a six-minute hat-trick in a 5-0 victory on Sunday at Paulton Rovers. Corsham Town beat Stockwood 4-2 but finished two points behind as runners-up, with Bitton a further couple behind after a 2-2 tie at Mangotsfield United, while Bath came away from Downend with a 2-1 result in their favour.

Knockout Cup Final – Torquay United overcame Poole Town 5-0 with five different goal scorers to add Cup joy to the Premier title.
South Division Supplementary Cup Final – Weston-super-Mare edged Yeovil Town with a penalty in first-half added time from Vika Khandusenko.

WEST MIDLANDS – Mad five days for Moors
Premier – Solihull Moors suffered three exhausting away defeats in the space of just five days, going down 2-0 at Redditch Borough in front of a crowd of 115, 1-0 away to Shrewsbury Town, and 3-2 to a 95th-minute decider at Coundon Court. Coventry Sphinx edged Port Vale 3-2 on Wednesday but lost 2-0 at home to Alisha Sheridan’s brace for Redditch Borough on Sunday, while the Valiants responded with a 2-1 defeat of Shrewsbury. Remaining fixtures: Tues 19 May – Redditch Borough vs. Shrewsbury; Weds 20 May – Sphinx vs. Shifnal at Cameron Slater Stadium. Sun 24 May – Coundon v Hednesford, Port Vale v Solihull, Shifnal v Sphinx. Thurs 28 May – Sphinx v Burton Albion, Shifnal v Shrewsbury. 31 Sun May – Coundon v Shifnal, Sphinx v Shrewsbury.
1 South – Crusaders lost 3-1 at home to champions Knowle, while Halesowen Town were 2-1 winners over Redditch United. Remaining fixtures: Weds 20 May – Crusaders vs. Bromsgrove Sporting at Shirley Town FC. Sun 24 May – Crusaders v Hereford FC, Redditch United v Droitwich.
