Bethany England is set to leave Spurs Women when her contract expires this summer, calling time on a three-and-a-half-season spell.

She joined Spurs midway through the 2022/23 campaign, scored 13 goals in 14 games across all competitions, and helped the club stay in the WSL.

Appointed captain ahead of the 2023/24 season, England led Spurs to their first-ever FA Cup final.

She has made over 200 appearances in the WSL and, with 32 goals, is Tottenham’s all-time leading goalscorer in the competition.

In a message to supporters, she wrote: “Tottenham became my home, a place that shaped me, challenged me and ultimately trusted me with the incredible honour of being captain. Something I will carry in my heart for the rest of my life. We’ve been through so much together, moments that tested us and moments that lifted us.

“Fighting through relegation battles, reaching an FA Cup final and that historic first north London derby win in front of our fans, memories I will never, ever forget. But what I’m most proud of goes beyond the pitch. The work we’ve done with the foundation, our charity efforts, standing alongside the proud Lily Whites, driving conversations, creating change and helping lay the foundations for the new women’s and girls’ facility.goals with two different teams.”

Spurs Women’s Managing Director, Andy Rogers, told tottenhamhotspur.com: “Bethany’s leadership has shaped a defining era in the history of Tottenham Hotspur Women. Upon arrival she drove a rise in standards, professionalism and desire, and she has continued to uphold and push these values throughout her time here.
