Scotland Women remained at the top of their World Cup Qualifying League B Group on goal difference over Belgium, against whom they played out a goalless draw.

Sandy MacIver made a couple of great saves, keeping out a close-range effort from Hannah Eurlings and a free-kick that Lieke Mertens managed to get a touch on.

The Scots held on to 0-0 at half-time, aided by the post during a frantic period of pressure.

Freya Gregory’s shot was stopped by Belgium goalkeeper Nicky Evrard, while MacIver tipped a Mariam Toloba header over the bar.

Kathleen McGovern passed up a great chance at the other end and later forced a save from Evrard, with teammates just unable to put away the rebound.
