Chelsea and Man Utd Women clash this weekend for the first silverware of the season in the Subway Women’s League Cup Final at Ashton Gate.
Although United are yet to beat the Blues, this is likely to be a very close contest, as both meetings between the finalists this term have been level at the end of normal time.
There was a 1-1 drawing in the WSL during October and Chelsea won 2-1 after extra time in the WFA Cup last month.
Chelsea thrashed Liverpool and won at Manchester City in the knockout rounds of the League Cup, while Manchester United came from behind to eliminate Spurs and were victorious away to Arsenal.
Manchester City have a chance to extend their eight-point lead at the top of the WSL when visiting Aston Villa. London City have sold all tickets for the home game with Arsenal. Spurs entertain Everton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while there’s a huge clash between the bottom two as Liverpool play Leicester City, over whom they have a one-point advantage but from a game more.
Barclays WSL 2 leaders Charlton look to bounce back from their first defeat of the league campaign when hosting Sunderland, while Portsmouth, who pulled off the unlikely midweek victory over the Addicks, are at home to fourth-placed Bristol City.
Birmingham City are nine points off the top with two games in hand and away at Southampton, third-placed Crystal Palace face Nottingham Forest.
Ipswich Town sit bottom, two places but just three points short of visitors Durham, while Sheffield United and Newcastle United get the weekend underway on Saturday evening.
