Japan Secure Maximum Points at the Womens Asian Cup

In the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Group C, Japan defeated Vietnam 4-0, while Chinese Taipei beat India 3-1.

Riko Ueki nearly scored just 10 seconds into Japan’s match against Vietnam, but she opened the scoring after 20 minutes by heading home a Yui Hasegawa cross.

Maike Hamano finally doubled the advantage after the interval, with Aoba Fujino and Kiko Seike following up with clinical finishes.

Khong Thi Hang made half a dozen great saves to keep the score down for Vietnam.

Chinese Taipei took an early lead against India through Su Yu-hsuan, Manisha Kalyan equalised before the break, only for Elangbam Panthoi Chanu to concede an own goal deep in first-half added time as the lead was restored.

Chen Yu-chin sealed the victory, making it 3-1 after 77 minutes, as they set up a clash with China.
