Barclays WSL action this weekend features fourth-placed Arsenal Women at home against a Manchester City side who are not just top by 11 points but have scored 10 more goals than anyone else.

The Gunners are a point behind Chelsea and two short of Manchester United, but with a game in hand on both in the battle for European places. While United go to Leicester on Saturday, the Blues play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon with Lucy Bronze not yet fit to return and Aggie Beever-Jones doubtful.

Basement side Liverpool are home to Aston Villa, while West Ham – a point ahead of the Reds – welcome Brighton.

London City face Everton, who are under the interim management of Scott Phelan following the sacking of Brian Sørensen.

Birmingham will at least briefly go top of WSL 2 if they win Sunday’s early game at Durham, with current leaders Charlton kicking off later at Nottingham Forest.

Fourth plays third as Crystal Palace take on Bristol City, while fifth faces sixth with Southampton hosting Newcastle.

The bottom two clash with Portsmouth, three points better off than Ipswich Town but from one game more.

Sunderland and Sheffield United get things underway Friday night at the changed venue of Eppleton, with the eighth-placed Black Cats two points in front of the Blades.
