Everton fought back from a goal down to bag their first home points of the season against Aston Villa and move up to ninth spot.
Ebony Salmon picked up a loose Ruby Mace pass and advanced into the area to fire Aston Villa ahead. But it was Mace who got the assist for the equaliser, as her corner was headed home at the far post by Martina Fernández. With the game going into added time, Fernández nodded home again from a Mace set-piece.
London City leapfrogged Brighton into sixth position with a comeback victory.
Kiko Seike curled the ball into the far corner for the Brighton opener, set up by a Madison Haley backheel. The scores were levelled when Freya Godfrey’s cross was hit into her own net as Moeka Minami attempted to clear. Godfrey struck London City’s second to send them in 2-1 up by the break.
Another fightback saw Spurs victorious at West Ham, putting them level on points with Arsenal but from a game more.
West Ham’s Shekiera Martinez was presented with a tap-in from Leila Wandeler’s pass across the six-yard box. Matilda Vinberg lashed in the leveller for Spurs with an angled effort from outside the corner of the box. Tottenham’s Olivia Holdt ran onto a loose ball to drive it home from 20 yards. Spurs had Drew Spence dismissed in stoppage time for a dangerous tackle.
Manchester United saw off Liverpool to go second in the table ahead of the late kick-off.
Lisa Naalsund lashed home the breakthrough goal for United early in the second half, following Jess Park’s cutback. A Liverpool corner ricocheted around the six-yard box before Alice Bergström tucked the ball away, only for Naalsund to swiftly make it 2-1 with her second. Fridolina Rolfö made sure of the points late on with a flick from Hanna Lundkvist’s cross.
