
Nottingham Forest Women have added Leanne Kiernan to another loan signing of Rebekah Dowsett, along with a permanent deal for Joy Omewa, all in the same week.
Kiernan joins from Liverpool, for whom she has a total of 76 games, plus 35 caps for the Republic of Ireland.
Head coach, Carly Davies, told nottinghamforest.co.uk: “Leanne is a player with proven quality at the highest level both on the domestic and international level. She brings a wealth of experience in this league, having won the division with Liverpool in 2021/22.
“She will bring a new dynamic to our attacking threat, and we are excited to see her play in the Garibaldi Red.”
Nigerian international forward Joy Omewa, a prolific striker at club level, signs from Fortuna Hjørring.

She earned her first senior cap for her country last year, featuring as the Super Falcons qualified for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Her 85 games with Fortuna Hjørring yielded a impressive 52 goals, and she helped them achieve the league and cup double in 2024/25, earning the Kvindeligaen Player of the Season award.
Davies said: “Joy’s incredible goal-scoring prowess speaks for itself. She’s a dynamic forward with a natural instinct in front of goal, and her ability to find the net consistently at both club and international level makes her a fantastic addition to our squad.”

Goalkeeper Rebekah Dowsett joins from West Ham.
She has just signed a three-year deal with the Hammers, her first pro contract.
Dowsett represented England at the U-17 World Cup in 2024 and gained a runners-up medal.
