Aston Villa Women have secured the loan signing of Jenna Nighswonger from Arsenal for the remainder of the season.
The deal also includes an option to buy the American left-sided international, who has 20 caps for her country, including winning an Olympic gold medal.
She has made 68 senior club appearances with the Gunners, with whom she won the UEFA Women’s Champions League title.
Director of Women’s Football, Marisa Ewers told avfc.co.uk: “Everyone at Aston Villa is extremely excited to welcome Jenna to the club.
“We have been tracking her for some time and are delighted that she has bought into our exciting project.
“This signing forms part of our growing ambitions as we continue to build an exciting and competitive squad, and we believe Jenna will add real quality to the group and support our goals moving forward.”
