Brighton Women sign Norway international midfielder Olaug Tvedten from Valerenga.

Head coach Dario Vidosic said: “We’re really excited to welcome Olaug to the team. She’s a technical goal-scoring midfielder with real quality, and we’re looking forward to seeing the impact she can make heading into the second half of the season.”

The 25-year-old began her career with IL Trott before signing her first professional contract with Avaldsnes IL in 2016. She was part of the team which won the Norwegian Cup in 2017, the club’s first major trophy in their history.

After five years at her previous club, she moved to Valerenga in 2021, where she has since won the league title in both 2023 and 2024, as well as the Norwegian Cup in 2021 and again in 2024 and 2025. She finished as the league’s top scorer in 2023 and again in 2025, scoring 52 goals across her four seasons, and was named Toppserien Player of the Year in 2024.

Olaug made her UEFA Champions League debut with Avaldsnes in 2017 against Barcelona. She has also played for Norway at youth level before making her senior debut in 2020.
