London City Lionesses Confirm New Head Coach as Eder Maestre

London City Lionesses confirm the appointment of Eder Maestre as the club’s new head coach, on a deal through to summer 2028.

His extensive experience of the top flight of women’s football in Spain was most recently as head coach of CD Tenerife, following three seasons as assistant at Real Sociedad, He helped them finish second to qualify for the UEFA Women’s Champions League, and reach the Copa de la Reina final in 2024.

Maestre told londoncitylionesses.com: “I love English football and representing this club is a real honour. In my opinion this project is now the best project in women’s football. The ambitions are very aligned with my values and I’m very excited.”

“Solid foundations are already in place here. I think we have all the ingredients to continue creating something very powerful. The first thing is respecting everything the club has already achieved.”

Chief Executive, Martin Semmens, added: “Eder’s arrival is a significant moment for the club and we are delighted to welcome him to London City. After a detailed search, it was clear that Eder’s values as a person align with ours, and his vision of what we will see on the pitch will help us reach our ambitious goals.”
